Saffron Grange X Provenance Kitchen

This season we want to take a moment to celebrate our special supplier partnerships. 🙌  As the very first restaurant to stock our sparkling wines when we launched back in 2019, it only felt right that our first spotlight was on the amazing Provenance Kitchen. The food at Provenance is outstanding and we are so proud to work with the talented team there since the early days of Saffron Grange!

The restaurant has just launched their brand-new Spring menu featuring a delicious, house-cured Cornish gurnard perfectly paired with the 2022 Saffron Grange Sparkling Rosé. Gurnard is a white fish that has a shellfish-rich diet which adds a subtle sweetness to the dish and a pink hue. The gurnard is home cured and thinly sliced before being dressed with freshly squeezed lime and sprinkled with ‘furikake’ – a Japanese seasoning made with seaweed and sesame seeds for an umami finished, served with wild puff rice.

Also on the menu is Cambridge asparagus. This dish really highlights what Provenance is all about: great local produce in peak seasonality. The Cambridge asparagus farmer they use is located just less than 4 miles from Provenance. The asparagus is charred on the hearth and plated with a rapeseed emulsion and served with Marcona almonds – lovely with the Saffron Grange Classic Cuvée.

The vineyard is only a 15 minute drive from our restaurant – this really is demonstrating provenance and local supply at its best but it also tastes great and the quality of the product is exceptional.”
