Tickled pink by a delightful review

Our new Pinot Noir Brut Rosé 2018 is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, giving the flavour of ripe red berries and candied red apple on the nose, leading to stone fruits and strawberry sherbet on the palette finishing with a hint of white pepper spice.

We don’t mind admitting that here at the Saffron Grange vineyard, we all think it is something quite special!

So, you can only imagine our delight on reading a glowing review of this luxurious wine on the website of none other than Jancis Robinson, OBE – recently voted the world’s most influential wine critic in polls in the US, France and internationally!

The review on www.JancisRobinson.com is written by renowned wine critic Tamlyn Currin – and it is positively glowing! She placed our Pinot Noir Brut Rosé 2018 top of the sparkling wine class in her ‘Rosés for 2020’ article, describing it as:

“Absolutely delightful. It’s so seldom that I just fall head over heels for a sparkling wine on the sole basis that it is simply delicious. No genuflecting to Krug or Billecart, no wannabe-Cristal winemaking attempts. Just a trugful of fresh-picked raspberries, the chalk and sherbet of alpine strawberries, a gauzy, lacy network of perfectly formed bubbles. As thirst-quenching as red-apple sorbet. And absolutely brilliant with food. One of the most food-friendly English sparkling wines I’ve ever had. I could drink this all summer!”

We couldn’t agree more!

Hot on the heels of this glowing review came the WineGB Awards, the leading awards for the UK wine industry. Our Pinot Noir Brut Rosé 2018 received the honour of a Bronze Medal.

Try it for yourself by ordering today from our shop. It makes the perfect accompaniment for savoury and sweet foods alike, so why not pair it this summer with a sweet and spicy marinated BBQ meats or a classic rhubarb tart?
