Vineyard Tours & Tastings at Saffron Grange

Vineyard Tours in Essex

Vineyard tours

All of our vineyard tours take place in our Essex vineyard in the heart of the Saffron region. Tours start with a warm welcome from our friendly team at our new winery, before taking a gentle stroll around the beautiful vineyard. Our vineyard tours are friendly, relaxed and informative, offering a fascinating journey through the history of our land.

You will learn more about the unique soil conditions that make the Saffron region perfect for growing vines, the techniques, time and effort that go into growing our grapes, and hear more about our expansion plans for the future.

Learn surprising facts, such as how Woolly Mammoths once roamed our land, the rare wildlife that we are encouraging back into the region through our efforts to promote nature and the local ecosystem, and why our land has the perfect conditions for growing exceptional quality grapes.

Vineyard tours take place in all weathers (and British summers can be quite unpredictable!) so please make sure you wear appropriate attire. Guests are offered the use of our large Saffron Grange umbrellas in the event of rain.

English sparkling wine tasting

Once you have enjoyed your tour of the vineyard, you will be taken back to the marquee.  Here you will receive a briefing from one of our qualified team, who will walk you through the wine tasting process and provide more information about each wine.

Relax as you soak up the panoramic views of the North-West Essex countryside, whilst enjoying delicious tastings of the vineyard’s latest releases. We also offer heavenly cheese and charcuterie boards to enjoy at the end of the tasting with each item chosen to pair perfectly with our wines.

Our mouth-watering cheeseboard includes three carefully selected and matured British cheeses from renowned Cambridge Cheesemongers Rennet & Rind. The board includes crackers, fresh bread and a selection of cheese companions and will be served for you to enjoy at the end of your tasting.

Or maybe you might prefer our charcuterie board, which includes a selection of delicious, award-winning and locally produced British charcuterie from Marsh Pig alongside crackers and a selection of companions.

Once your tasting has finished, you are welcome to spend time relaxing in our café or visit our shop to purchase wines by the bottle or case as well as other locally-sourced gifts and souvenirs.
